BC/Yukon AA Area 79 is a custom built website using PHP/CSS/HTML/Javascript connected to a MySQL database.
Originally the site was 3 separate sites which were accessed by a custom login built for the desktop only. My role initial role (over 4 years) was to implement new changes to the website which often required duplication of code into the other sites and to resolve issues with the site.
After the 4 year contract was over I completely migrated the site to a mobile friendly site (over 3 months), integrating the separate sites and displaying only information that user access level should see. This reduced the code duplication and made it easier for future developers to maintain the site. In addition SEO for the site was implemented for the first time.
During the development of the new site it was required to keep both the original site accessible by the public/registered users and the new site accessible to the other developers for testing purposes.
The switch from the old non mobile friendly site to the new site was transparently performed for all users with zero downtime.
The site has been completely handed over to the client.
